The Swedish giant Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) has acquired the plot in the Ghlin-Baudour industrial estate where it will locate its future European distribution centre, our colleagues at SudPresse reported on Thursday.
More than 500 new jobs will be created.
The Swedish clothing brand H&M has taken a major step towards the future location of its European distribution centre by acquiring on Tuesday the plot on which it plans to build a more than 50,000m2 depot in the Ghlin-Baudour industrial estate, managed by Idea.
The mayor of Mons, Elio Di Rupo, and all of the Municipal College, declared themselves delighted with the forthcoming location of the H&M logistics and distribution centre in the Ghlin-Baudour business zone.
For the Wallonia Minister-President, Rudy Demotte, the investment constituted “another example of the economic revival currently underway in the Wallonia Region.”
