SKECHERS USA, Inc., announced that it will double its European distribution center capacity to 45,000 square meters in 2009 with the addition of an adjoining facility.

SKECHERS EDC SPRL, which is located at ProLogis Park in Liege, Belgium, serves as the distribution point for SKECHERS product to 12 European countries.

"SKECHERS has been growing steadily in Europe as our subsidiaries in the region are getting a foothold in the market, achieving greater acceptance of our product. This, and the addition of several other brands - including footwear for Marc Ecko and Zoo York, has resulted in a need for increased warehouse space and shipping capabilities," stated David Weinberg, SKECHERS' chief operating officer. "The linked facility will triple our storage capacity and enhance our distribution three-fold as we move into a partially automated pick-and-pack system. We believe we will improve the efficiency of our logistics operations necessary to leverage our distribution center costs while meeting the increased demand for our product."

The new facility, which is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2009, will be partially automated, allowing the Company to receive, store, retrieve, pack and ship product through a high-tech material handling system. SKECHERS has occupied Phase 1 of ProLogis Park Liege since December 2002.
