The "BUSINESS PARKS" database is designed to make foreign investors want to set up business in Wallonia business areas.
One of the main features of the Marshall Plan is the development of the factors that make Wallonia attractive. The creation of "BUSINESS PARKS" is one of the methods used to do so. The site is aimed at companies that would like to set up businesses in Wallonia, those that want to know more about their competitors, customers or suppliers and their location, and anyone who wishes to obtain a visual impression of Wallonia and its market.
Wallonia has 206 public business parks, covering a total of 13,500 hectares. The same format is used on the site to show all of them. Visitors will find a plan of each site, a description of its facilities, etc. Information will be updated every 6 months. The database has an information section which visitors can search on the basis of general criteria (location, type of park, etc.) or specific criteria (type of electrical equipment, distance from an airport, etc). They can also make searches based on existing companies.
At a later stage, the site is expected to incorporate new developments, such as visits to business parks via Google Earth, the inclusion of plans of Wallonia's major industrial areas (where to find pôles de competivité, clusters, etc.), and the extension of the existing information to include leisure and cultural interests.
